This study intends to investigate the perspectives of beneficiaries of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program, a social mitigation program aimed at providing relief to people who have been affected by increases in prices. Specifically, the paper focuses on the beneficiaries' perceptions of the program, its effectiveness, and the impact it has had on their lives. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with UCT beneficiaries from Kamputhaw Cebu City which investigates the potential implications of UCT for the overall economic and social welfare of the affected population. Research has shown that understanding the perspectives of beneficiaries in the UCT programs can help improve the design and implementation of such programs, leading to more effective poverty alleviation outcomes. The salient findings imply that UCT is perceived to be an effective program for providing immediate relief and addressing some of the economic hardships that are associated with price increases. Beneficiaries often have valuable insights into their own needs and priorities, and involving them in the decision-making process can lead to more targeted and impactful interventions.
