| Abstract | Few studies have reported that telecommunication has hugely impacted economic growth; however, its influence on business transactions in every region has yet to be accomplished. The present study evaluates the impact of telecommunications on the economy and foreign and local investments in the regions of the Philippines from 2018–2020. This study employed the principal component analysis to summarize data sets from NTC, path analysis to determine the significance of the three variables, and endogenous growth theory to emphasize the concept of the study. Findings showed that regions with solid telecommunications performance do not directly result in economic growth; instead, the telecommunications industry revealed a significant impact through Foreign and National Investment. Furthermore, the study shows that even how good the telecommunications industry is performing, the country’s economy could still decrease due to various factors. However, an improved telecommunication industry could positively impact the total approved investments of foreign and Filipino nationals. Hence, the said industry could greatly attract more investors to our country and could be a significant driver for the economic growth of the Philippines. |
