Abstract The study aims to characterize the international trade strengths of the eleven Southeast Asian member countries. Vietnam was excluded due to a lack of data. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers employed a cluster analysis using data gathered through a data mining strategy from the World Bank and World Integrated Trade Solutions (WITS) database. According to the findings, the clusters are characterized by Resource Abundance, Goods Movement, Tourist Destination, and a Trading Hub. Additionally, these ten clustered countries can be each other's competitors but at the same time compete against different countries all over the world. Thus, this study concludes that higher international trade links to higher economic growth but not necessarily for all.
